Notable Deaths Include: The Hunt For Red October, Savior, Ronin, Deep Blue Sea, No Good Deed, Dogville, Helen Of Troy, King Arthur, Angels & Demons, Melancholia (technically), The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo When you watch a movie with Stellan Skarsgard in it and he makes it through to the end without being chopped into bits or shot in the face, it's like stumbling upon that winning episode of
Takeshi's Castle. That's how I felt when he survived both
Thor and
The Avengers, anyway, having come to terms with that fact that the talented actor usually winds up dead at the end of every movie I'd seen him star in. Alas, Stellan Skarsgard has made a career playing creepy or evil characters - death comes with that kind of territory. The man has been in the movie business since 1968, though, so he's certainly racked up his fair share. Most recently, anyway, Skarsgard could be seen as the antagonist in David Fincher's remake of
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, which had him trapped in a car moments before it explodes into flames. Ouch. The man also went down rather horribly in
The Hunt For Red October,
Ronin and
King Arthur. Stellan lives to be killed, apparently.
