8. Steve Buscemi
Notable Deaths Include:Lonesome Dove, Miller's Crossing, Fargo, The Big Lebowski, Monsters Inc. (probably), Twenty Bucks, Desperado, Things To Do In Denver When You're Dead, Domestic Disturbance, Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, The Grey Zone, The Island Maybe it's Steve Buscemi's inherent desperation that makes him such a ripe candidate for cinema death. It's almost as if, by law, the actor's characters are not permitted to make it through to the end of any flick, purely on account of the way that they look. The man himself is, of course, one of Hollywood's best and greatest character actors, though - and he'd probably be the first to admit - he's not a particularly handsome guy. A trait which, in this industry, often spells doom. Buscemi has died a lot, is what I'm saying, and often at times when you think: "Aw, come on, did he really need to die here?" Think back to
The Big Lebowski, when Donny dies of a heart attack. Did we really need to see Buscemi offed at that point? Even when he's starring in a Pixar movie (
Monsters Inc.), he ends up getting beaten to death with a shovel. Weird, then, that Quentin Tarantino has never killed any of his Buscemi characters on-screen: with his renowed bloodlust, you'd think he'd jump at the chance.
