7. Daniel Craig - Quantum Of Solace
With the success of James Bond reboot
Casino Royale and Daniel Craig widely accepted as the right actor to take on the iconic character for a new generation, the excitement levels for
Quantum of Solace couldn't have been higher. But the movie suffered from the writers' strike and the plot never really came together as a result, something that Daniel Craig himself was pretty frank about when
Solace came up against poor critical reviews. On
Quantum, we were f*cked," he said. "We had the bare bones of a script and then there was a writers strike and there was nothing we could do. We couldnt employ a writer to finish it. There was me trying to rewrite scenes - and a writer I am not. We were stuffed." Aw, well, at least he had a go, I suppose, though the lack of screenwriting professionals on the movie is plainly noticeable. And though he derided the movie, at least he kept his criticisms tasteful.
