Every now and again, you hear of a pop star trying to make it as an actor. Usually, you end up with reliably clunky and awkward performances - one only has to look at Rihanna's turn in Battleship for that - but occasionally, you get a few good eggs (Bowie in Labyrinth, anyone?). Some singers have even made the transition in to a full-time acting career and had a great deal of success with that, such as Mark and Donnie Wahlberg. But one thing you don't often hear much of is actors trying to make it with another career as a singer. Often, it's because the people that try to make such a movie just aren't very good - but every now and again, you get a gem that rises up. Here's a look at some of the famous faces that fit in at both ends of the spectrum.
10. Juliette Lewis

Juliette Lewis' acting career was not at its peak in the early 00's, so it seemed the perfect time for her to start to indulge in her passion for music. With that in mind, she launched her own rock band, "Juliette Lewis & The Licks" and set about making albums. The band had some moderate success in the UK, with several singles actually making the charts thanks in part to some good publicity by Lewis. For the second full-length album the band released, "Four on the Floor", Lewis even had help from Dave Grohl, who performed on drums for the record after the band's original drummer left, including on the above single "Hot Kiss". The band split up in 2009, but Lewis has since released her own solo album whilst continuing her acting career again.
