4. Jared Leto - Morbius

Given how poorly his performance as The Joker went down, you could have forgiven Jared Leto for never wanting to do a comic book movie ever again. But here he is tackling an even more challenging character - this time from Marvel's comics universe - in the shape of actual vampire Michael Morbius.

We can expect Leto to play the role in two halves, just as the comics origin story would demand. He'll start out as Dr Michael Morbius, who discovers that he's dying because of a rare genetic issue and experiments on himself while seeking a radical cure. At that point, he's likely to become unrecognisable as his body is twisted and deformed and he becomes a super-power pseudo-vampire.

It's an interesting role for Leto to take on, but he has experience with fully transformative roles and he's a very talented actor. So let's hope this one pays off well.
