10 Famous Movie Plot Holes (That Are NOT Plot Holes)

8. Why Didn't Mr. Freeze Cure His Wife? - Batman & Robin

Batman & Robin is one of the most plothole-ridden films of all time. Why does Mr. Freeze smoke a cigar and wear slippers if heat can kill him? Why doesn't Batman get frozen after Mr. Freeze uses an ice ray on the entire city? How can Batman have a credit card without exposing his identity?

If you've seen this film (which many people only have out of morbid curiosity), you may have noticed an inconsistency revolving around Bruce Wayne's valet, Alfred Pennyworth. Alfred is dying from MacGregor syndrome; the same disorder that Mister Freeze's wife is suffering from. After Batman has a heart-to-heart with Freeze, the cryonic scientist agrees to give him the medicine needed to save Alfred's life.

So... why didn't he use the same remedy on his wife?

The answer is simple; Batman asks Freeze for the cure for "MacGregor Syndrome Stage 1". Because Freeze hasn't used this medicine himself, it's clear his wife's illness is in a more advanced stage, hence it not having any effect.
