9. Jurassic Park III (2001)
I suppose we should be thankful that
Jurassic Park III didn't turn out quite as badly as it probably should have, given that Spielberg was probably pushing it even making
The Lost World. Still, whereas that underwhelming movie at least made an effort to surprise us with a secret third act that took our heroes to the mainland and unleashed dinosaur mayhem in suburbia,
Jurassic Park III pulls out absolutely zero surprises. It just ends in the most generic way possible, with our heroes being rescued by the military and whizzed to safety in a helicopter. This might've been all right had the movie not even been at its 90th minute yet. Having escaped a bunch of dinosaurs (that's
all that happens in this movie), Dr. Alan Grant and the other survivors gets into a helicopter and look out as some flying dinosaurs soar away from the island with them. With this happening at the 85 minute-mark, you could certainly have been forgiven for expecting something to have happened... you know, to make this into a two-hour film or something. But that's was it. That's all you got. Given that this was supposed to be the last
Jurassic Park ever, what a climax, huh?
