10 Famous Uncredited Roles You May Not Have Noticed

9. Peter Jackson - Hot Fuzz

Universal Pictures
"The irony of Peter Jackson is that we got him to play Santa Claus and the irony is that we had to give him a fake beard and pad him up. The two things that three years ago would be the prerequisite for the role, like he'd both lost." - Edgar Wright

After loitering around the set of Peter Jackson's 'King Kong' like a self-proclaimed work experience kid, Hot Fuzz director Edgar Wright became friends with the Middle-Earth maestro and started dropping hints about his new project back in the UK.

Having been a big fan of Shaun Of The Dead, Jackson was keen to get involved and, in an overlapping week where the film was being shot in London and the New-Zealand born director happened to be visiting, Jackson shot his brief scene as the infamous Santa that stabs Simon Pegg's Nick Angel through the hand.

It's a 'blink and you'll miss it scene' that's final cut is reduced to little more than a five-second snapshot, and urban legend (or Simon Pegg's gossiping to be more precise) dictates that Jackson was so disappointed to having been almost entirely left on the cutting room floor that he spent the remainder of the film (so pretty much most of it) pacing the cinema foyer, refusing to re-enter the screening.
