10 Female-Led Superhero Movies We Want To See
9. Ms. Marvel
The Kamala Khan iteration of Ms. Marvel would make for a fascinating screen heroine for a number of reasons: it'd be awesome to see cinema's first Muslim superhero, we could use a few more teen superhero movies, shapeshifting isn't an over-exposed superpower on-screen like so many others, and there's an easy tie-in to Captain Marvel as Khan inherits the Ms. Marvel moniker from Carol Danvers.
With Black Panther paving the way for more diverse portrayals of superheroes in the MCU, and Spider-Man: Homecoming proving how easily a young superhero can vibe with his adult superhero pals, she'd make a fantastic addition to a line-up that could certainly use a few more women.
How Likely Is It?: Not likely, at least not soon. With the Brie Larson-starring Captain Marvel movie due out in 2019, releasing a Ms. Marvel film soon afterwards is just asking casual audiences to be confused.
Plus, with the likelihood being that Captain Marvel will spawn a multi-film franchise, that makes a Ms. Marvel movie even more doubtful, at least over the next 5-10 years.
And to be more cynical, it's taken Marvel Studios this long to start developing superhero movies starring black people and women, so we're probably a long ways off from them pushing Muslims into the limelight. Shame. 2/10
