1. Sarah Connor (Terminator Movies)
Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) is the ultimate female action hero and all-round badass. Sarah became the target of a killer cyborg sent from the future when it became apparent that her son would grow up to become the man who leads a rebellion against the uprising of a self-aware artificial intelligence intent on destroying mankind. With the help of a human soldier sent from the future to defend her, Sarah fended off the cyborg and, over the course of the film franchise, swiftly transformed from a very feminine teenage waitress in to a hardcore survivor and tactically astute woman soldier. She survived another assault from a more advanced model in the second movie, a movie in which she had fully developed in to a woman you would not want to mess with. Despite the attempts to assassinate her using advanced technology, it is leukaemia that Sarah finally succumbed to, leaving a legacy of badassery that few other females in fiction can compete with.
