10 Female Superheroes Who Deserve Their Own Film

1. Wonder Woman

Where do I start? A DC mainstay since the 1940s, Wonder Woman has since become one of the most iconic characters in pop culture today. Princess of the Amazons, one third of DC€™s core trinity, she€™s even the star of an awesomely tacky 1970s TV show. Diana of Themyscira is one formidable lady, possessing super strength, the ability to fly, bullet-proof bracelets, a lasso of truth and even an invisible jet in her arsenal. The jet was always a bit questionable in my eyes, but that aside, Wonder Woman is THE female to beat in the superhero stakes. So why are we still waiting for a solo film starring the Amazonian warrior? Adapting Wonder Woman has been a huge source of frustration for a number of film makers over the years, but when Joss Whedon announced he wanted to take the Amazonian on, I was ecstatic. The man who created Buffy, one of the strongest female characters of all time, would have been perfect. This, of course, was before he helmed Avengers Assemble, the biggest superhero movie ever made€ for Marvel. Since then, the news came out that Wonder Woman will feature in the new Batman Vs. Superman film, uniting the three heroes on the big screen together for the first time. Will a solo film subsequently be announced? Despite Wonder Woman€™s iconic status, I think the studio may hold back until they can determine whether their gamble has paid off, but for me and most of the fanboys out there, such a move is beyond overdue. Should Be Played By: Eliza Dushku Gal Gadot has already been cast as Diana but I€™m still dubious. While Gadot may surprise us with a solid performance, I worry that the Fast and the Furious star may not have what it takes. Know who would be awesome? Eliza Dushku proved on both Buffy and Dollhouse that she possesses the right combination of intensity and sex appeal to nail the Princess of the Amazons. All hail King Whedon! Like this article?
