There are certain incarnations of well-known characters who simply aren't as powerful as the classic version and the level of power we've come to expect of said characters. Whether it's because of budgetary restraints or simply because the writers/producers/film-makers wanted to "tone it down", some character portrayals are a shadow of the versions of themselves from the original media source in terms of power level.
