The third Transformers movie, Dark of the Moon, is the longest of the bunch, clocking in at 154 minutes. To its credit, it boasts an absolutely fantastic action sequence in act three which runs for about 45 minutes, but it's just a shame that we have to sit through 90 minutes of garbage before it. Cut out all of the dumb humour, all of the relationship nonsense, keep as much John Malkovich and Frances McDormand in it as possible and get straight to the action, because nobody sees these movies for the story or characters anyway. It astounds me that a studio is so keen for Michael Bay to make such a long movie about robots beating each other up. Surely a 120 minute runtime is more desirable? Could they not then show the film more times per day and potentially rake in even more money?
