10 Final Fights That Could Have Saved X-Men: The Last Stand

9. Angel An X-Man

9 angel an x-man In a lot of ways Angel was one of the most central characters to the film. The opening scene with a young Angel filing his wings was a very powerful reminder of the lengths that we go to trying to fit in. His father's shame of Angel's mutation is what lead to the development of the "cure." When Angel is about to receive the "cure", he comes to realise that he doesn't want it and escapes in a spectacular fashion. He then arrives at Xavier's to find a place where he can be accepted for who he is. Angel is a symbol for mutant freedom, and even more than that he is a symbol for freedom from conformity of any kind. In a lot of the promotional shots for X-Men: The Last Stand, Angel is seen wearing the black leather X-Men uniform. In the film though, he never wears the uniform, and he never fights as an X-Man. Angel more so than any of the X-Men understands the significance of the "cure", and the people that will be hurt by the Brotherhood attacking the facility. Imagine then, Angel not just flying in to save his father, but fighting alongside the X-Men in uniform. There are so many interesting things that could have been done with the fighting style of a man with wings.
