5. Would You Rather
Would You Rather revolves around Iris (Brittany Snow), a young woman who agrees to take part in a philanthropist's parlour game, because in the event she wins, he'll pay for her brother Raleigh's (Logan Miller) leukemia treatment.
Iris soon comes to realise the "game" is far more dangerous than expected - that is, it's a life-or-death version of "Would You Rather?," with Iris and her fellow players having to choose one of two horrible options per round.
Iris makes it to the final round, where her choices are: shoot rival Lucas (Enver Gjokaj) dead or spare his life and they both leave alive, yet without any cash.
Iris ultimately makes the grim decision to shoot Lucas, in turn winning the money and a bone marrow donor for her ill brother.
But the movie ends with a major kick in the crotch when Iris gets home, goes to check on her brother and finds that he's committed suicide, overdosing on pills because he felt he was a burden to his sis.
While you can at least appreciate a messed-up level of "value" in Iris killing another person to save her most beloved family member, the fact that she ultimately did it all for nothing, given that Raleigh died anyway, completely reframes her act, making this one of the cruelest endings in horror movie history.
