10 Foods Made Infamous By The Movies

8. Chocolate Cake - Matilda

Roald Dahl had a knack of making the world of sugary snacks a dangerous and testing world to grow up in - especially if you're the fat kid. Like Augustus Gloop - the first to go in Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory - Bruce Bogtrotter is a victim of his insatiable need to eat chocolate. The culprit, Ms Trunchball, punishes Bruce in assembly by forcing him to consume a copious amount of chocolate cake - a questionable penance for a boy who's only crime is being a little rotund. What should be considered a treat turns into a hellish nightmare for Bruce, as slice after slice is forced down his throat by the leering Trunchball, whilst terrified kids look on with concern. The cake itself looks vile, especially when smeared across the boy's face and, whilst he does finish it off, you can't help but notice the development of a pseudo-belly ache as you can only imagine the damage to Bruce Bogtrotter's insides the ordeal has caused. Overall, a truly terrifying scene as, lest we forget, Trunchball goes on to smash the glass dish over the boy's head, in frustration. Unbelievable scenes.
