For every beloved Disney movie you watch a hundred times, there are many forgotten movies left to moulder in the bargain bin of your big box store. It is through no fault of their own that these poorly remembered movies linger dustily on the shelf, no! It is the responsibility of we, the movie-going public to fish them out, pretty them up and give them a new lease on life. And with all the remakes, reboots and downright regrettable movies being put out these days, there is much work to be done. As a lifelong fan of all things Disney, as well as former employee of The Mouse, I find myself uniquely qualified to tell my former employer exactly what they messed up and how best to fix it. After all, I grew up on these movies, I saw them through the unclouded eyes of youth, and remembered them well enough to desire to see them again. And when I did, some were in need of serious help. Some suffer from the time in which they were made. Technology has not been kindly treated in the passing years. Others suffer from the fact that we have become more discerning in our entertainment. A few were just plain stinkers the first time around. The fact remains, they all could be so much better if done today, using new technology, new casts, and yes, even being completely rewritten.
