10 Formidable Final Girls Who Survived Horror Movies
6. Sally Hardesty - The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Tobe Hooper freaked out an entire generation with the story of Leatherface and his adorable cannibal family back in 1974. Unsurprisingly, the film drew huge controversy at the time, but its popularity endured and suddenly, a franchise was born. Sally Hardesty earns a place on this list for managing to escape from the murderous chainsaw wielding family not once but twice in one film. After initially escaping the house where her friends are killed, Hardesty makes it to a nearby gas station, but is then tied up by the proprietor who drags her back to the house she only just escaped. Some people have no luck! Hardesty eventually makes it out alive with the help of a passing driver, but shockingly, the experience seems to have dampened her spirits somewhat as she later appears briefly in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation, being wheeled down a corridor on a gurney at a mental hospital. Apparently, watching your brother be murdered with a chainsaw is not so good for your mental health.
