Whilst they're never going to win any Oscars or be preserved by Congress, the first three Spy Kids movies are good family fun.

They are exactly what they say on the tin - movies about kids who are also spies. There's lot of fun action, silly humour, and wholesome messages about the joy of family and friendship.

The first three films follow Juni and Carmen Cortez, the titular child agents and the children of two adult spies. Unfortunately, by the time the fourth movie rolled around, actors Darryl Sabara and Alexa PenaVega just weren't cute anymore.

Sabara was 19 years old and PenaVega was 22 when Spy Kids: All the Time in the World came out in 2011. This meant that they had to be replaced; in fact, most of the characters from the original trilogy were.

Outside of the name, the fourth Spy Kids film has very little in common with those that came before it. Even Sabara and PenaVega making cameos couldn't save it.

After this release, Spy Kids fizzled out and hasn't returned since. If only children didn't grow up, then none of this would have ever happened.

Stupid kids, conforming to biology.
