10 Funny Moments From Aaron Seltzer And Jason Friedberg Movies

8. Meet The Spartans - Dance Off

There were tons of laughs to be had when Leonidas and his Spartan soldiers battled the Persian army in Meet The Spartans. Of course the movie is a rip off of 300 so you would expect a big parody battle scene. You probably didn't expect that battle scene to be a stepping contest though. Meet the Spartans premiered amidst the dance flick revolution (Step Up, How She Move, Honey) and provided a hilarious parody of the acclaimed dance flick Stomp the Yard. The style of dance featured in "Stomp the Yard" is stepping, a dance that prides itself in its confrontational style of display. Friedberg and Seltzer parodies are very of the moment, so it would only be natural, at least in the mind of Friedberg and Seltzer, for their Spartans and Persians to have a step battle to the death. Not only was it natural, it was hilarious. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a clear embeddable copy of the scene. Luckily the theatrical trailer has a ton of the dance footage in it. Enjoy.

Raymond Woods is too busy watching movies to give you a decent bio. If he wasn't too busy watching movies and reading books about movies and listening to podcasts about movies, this is what he'd tell you. "I know more about film than you. Accept this as a fact and we might be able to talk."
