Another Asgardian coming to Loki, Sera (pictured above alongside Thor's sister Angela on the left) has a pretty standard set of powers, including super strength, immortality, and a number of magical abilities. She's very much a minor character in the comics so what makes her so exciting?

Well, Marvel is looking to cast a transgender actress for the role which is a huge step forward for the studio. By the time Eternals arrives this November, it will have taken them twelve years to introduce an openly gay superhero character, and so Sera being transgender is a step in the right direction in making the world of the MCU reflect our own.

It's been reported that a black actress will possibly be cast in the role and speculation is running rampant that she too will be a Valkyrie. Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie tracking down these women in Thor: Love and Thunder and bringing them to the big screen in the process certainly sounds like a fitting subplot for her there.
