10 Genius Ways Movies Fixed Their Own Mistakes

6. A Visible Camera Was Covered With A Coat - The Matrix

When Neo (Keanu Reeves) and Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne) pay the Oracle (Gloria Foster) a visit in the first Matrix movie, there's a distinctive close-up shot of a doorknob, where Neo and Morpheus are both reflected.

And the Wachowskis were so eager to get the shot that they had to come up with a creative way to fix one major issue - the presence of the camera.

Despite the film's extensive visual effects work, the directors sought a practical solution for this issue - they literally just placed a black jacket over the camera, located on the left-hand side of the image, and crossed their fingers that audiences wouldn't realise.

But of course, with the advent of HD and especially 4K, things like this are more obvious than ever to keen eyes, and while 99.9% of audiences will never organically notice it, once you know how they solved the problem, it's impossible to un-see.
