10 Genres Quentin Tarantino Should Deconstruct After Django Unchained

1. The "Prohibition Gangster" Movie

It seems like the most obvious match-up and it really is. You've got the perceived nostalgic coolness of 1920s-30s gangsters, the wanton violence and the perfect era to nudge between the western set Django Unchained and the World War II environment of Inglourious Basterds. It's so tailor-made for Tarantino that he himself has mentioned his desire to play in that particular decade's sandbox. It'd be another great opportunity for him to link the chains of his Tarantinoverse while telling a tale drenched in all the trappings we expect from a movie coming from his beautifully warped mind. While we'll have to let Ruben Fleischer's energetic-looking Gangster Squadand HBO's stellar Boardwalk Empire whet our appetites for the time being, if Tarantino does decide to add the tommy gun to his arsenal, I'm certain that the result with be a film worthy of standing next to other genre classics like DePalma's The Untouchables and the Coen Brothers' Miller's Crossing. Are there any genres you think would be a perfect fit for Quentin Tarantino to take a shot at once he's done playing in the Wild West? Shout out in the comments and let us know!
