3. The "Animated" Movie

This is more of a medium rather than a genre, but hear me out. The anime bits from
Kill Bill Volume 1 were absolutely breathtaking. I wanted an entire movie of that. And something all American animators have been lamenting since the inception of the art form is that there aren't any big theatrical productions of animated movies that aren't geared towards kids. Quentin Tarantino has enough pull to be the man that could turn that all around. Imagine seeing a feature-length, R-rated, violence saturated tapestry on the big screen. The thing that an adult animated movie has been missing is someone with the name recognition to get people into the theater. I don't care what the story or genre would be: If Quentin Tarantino was behind a animated feature film, I would be there on opening day with no hesitation. Out of all the entries on this list, this is the one I hope to see before my life is over. If I have to be inundated with advertisements for 3D CG-eye candy every year, the least we grownups can get is a cartoon made for us.
