10 Great Comic Book Movies You'll Never Watch Again (And Why)

4. Dredd

What It€™s About: Tasked with taking down a drug dealer at the top of a high-rise apartment building, this futuristic film follows Judge Dredd, a one-man judge, jury and, executioner. Accompanying him is his rookie partner Anderson, who uses her psychic abilities to help them navigate a a series of increasingly dangerous levels on their way to the top. Why It€™s Great: It takes a simple premise, a couple well-written characters, and unleashes some insane slow-motion action. The style in particular needs to be commended - the approach to very graphic violence is inspired. As a result, the film is a breeze to watch, never letting up on the combat scenes, but still managing to find a strong emotional core. Why You€™ll Never Watch It Again: There€™s a better version of Dredd that already exists and it€™s called The Raid. The Indonesian film that was released at the same time as Dredd has literally the exact same plot minus the futuristic trappings. And while Dredd€™s action sequences were good, The Raid€™s are on a whole other level, making it hard to justify watching Dredd again instead.
