3. "Cut The Beans Sequence" - Blazing Saddles (1974)
Oh, how little some Hollywood executives know - a point proven immensely through the fact that one bright spark originally called Mel Brooks to his office and requested that the now infamous "bean farting" sequence in his classic western comedy romp
Blazing Saddles be cut. Not just that: they also wanted to take out every utterance of the N-word, which would have essential removed the film's most all-important racial/satirical aspects. Brooks, ever the provocateur, took the time to note down every single one of the studio's suggestions and requests during a meet, only to step outside and hurl them in the trash. Presumably the executive who made such demands ran for the hills when he realised just how wrong he had been, or just, like, keep quiet for a while.
