10 Great Werewolf Movies (That Nobody Ever Talks About)

9. Trick R Treat

Godzilla: King of the Monsters director Michael Dougherty may finally be getting the kudos and subsequent major blockbuster directorial duties that he has long been owed, but his underrated horror anthology Trick R' Treat has still never received the widespread audience recognition it deserves.

Sure, so it's something of a minor spoiler to even list the film here, as its take on the lycanthropy mythos is playful and original enough to subvert audience expectations and keep viewers guessing.

But even amongst a string of equally strong segments, this anthology’s werewolf story soars, re-vitalizing the tired trope of using werewolves as a metaphor for nascent sexuality with a twisted tale that has a lot more bite than most anthology instalments can manage.
