10 Great Zombie Movies With At Least One Survivor

1. Shaun Of The Dead

Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse
Universal Pictures

It is a delicious stroke of irony that one of the the greatest zombie movies of all time is a glorious parody of several other stand-out genre entries.

The first entry in the wildly successful Cornetto Trilogy, Shaun of the Dead's effortless blend of side-splitting satirical humor, deftly moving touches and some legitimately scary moments make for 99 minutes of exemplary film-making from start to finish. Edgar Wright's 2004 offering was met with a tidal wave of acclaim, gaining a cult following that has stood the test of time and critical re-examination while kickstarting a world-wide debate as to whether dogs can look up that rages on to this day.

Amongst the chaotic audio-visual array consisting of - but not limited to - joy-driving Jaguars, accidental darts to the head and the beating of zombified bartenders to death in time to Queen's Don't Stop Me Now, Shaun's mum, David and Philip number amongst the many cast members who fail to make it to the end of the movie. However, Wright's inimitably brilliant zombie-comedy does see Shaun and his girlfriend Liz ultimately outlast the events of the apocalypse - saved by the triumphant arrival of the British Army and Shaun's ex-girlfriend Yvonne when all appears to be lost.

Hell, even Nick Frost's serial slob Ed technically survives the events of the film - barring the minor inconvenience of having been turned into a zombie. How's that for a slice of fried gold?
