10 Greatest Astronauts In Television History

2. Duck Dodgers - Merrie Melodies (1953)

Astronauts - TV - Duck Dodgers Duck Dodgers is an animated sci-fi character based on the alter ego of Looney Tunes star Daffy Duck. There is a newer series about Duck Dodgers, but I prefer the original called Duck Dodgers from the 1953 Merrie Melodies episode Duck Dodgers in the 24½th Century. Besides, we also get to see Marvin the Martian in that episode. The plot of the original cartoon featuring Duck Dodgers involves his search for the element Illudium Phosdex, which is known as "the shaving cream atom." In this future universe, the only known supply of the rare element is found on Planet X and Duck Dodgers must claim the planet for Earth. Dodgers plots a course (with the help of Porky Pig) through planets A, B, C, etc. until he reaches Planet X. Unfortunately, Marvin the Martian has also reached Planet X and the two battle it out for control of the planet. You just can't put a price on entertainment like that.
