10 Greatest British Themed Romance Films

1. Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994)

Richard Curtis's surprise hit was the highest-grossing British film of the time and the first time he and Hugh Grant worked together, with Grant starring as Charles. The film tells the story of a group of friends from the perspective of Charles, who falls for Carrie (Andie MacDowell) as they keep bumping into each other at weddings. Charming, whimsical and thoroughly British, this entertaining and wonderfully romantic film is unmissable and wholly deserving of its place at number 1. The mainly English cast and the locations used make this film exceptional. Who could forget Rowan Atkinson's turn as a nervous vicar?! Any of your favourites that we missed out?
