Many have speculated that there's something much deeper going on between Frodo and his faithful compatriot, Sam. Much fan fiction has been written involving their mutual attraction and frothing loins. You might say that this isn't a bromance, but a true, honest-to-goodness romance that neither could bring themselves to admit on their journey to Mount Doom.

But that's all subtext, really. On the surface, this is an epic --albeit lopsided -- bromance between two best friends, one of whom is probably the most unselfish being in the history of cinema.

The idea of doing anything for your best friend is stretched to ungodly limits, with Sam stepping in to save Frodo's life at least once every couple of hours and literally carrying him on his back for most of their journey.

Frodo wouldn't have lasted thirty minutes away from The Shire without Sam, but like a true bro, he never complained about essentially being Frodo's lackey. Because he loved his friend, and knew how much of a toll that stupid ring took on him. Besides, you always have your bro's back. Always.
