10 Greatest Captain America Moments In The MCU

The entire third act of Avengers Endgame feels like one big emotional experience. From every hero that was dusted coming back in full force to the tragic death of some of our favorite heroes, the film gives a great finality to the team that started it all back in the first Iron Man film.

Though Cap managed to make it to the end of the film intact, many fans weren't prepared for how hard this emotional sucker punch hit them.

When the Avengers finally emerge victorious, Cap volunteers to take all of the Infinity Stones back to their rightful timelines. As he goes into the time machine, fans were holding their breath when they didn't see him return when the time machine reboots. Though it may have been ominous for a few seconds, it gets much more fulfilling when you see Cap as an old man sitting on a bench.

As he has a little exchange with Falcon, you can see that Steve's journey as the Captain is finally complete, with decided to live a normal life and pass on the mantle of the shield to his fellow Avenger. Rather than being a gruesome death, it's absolutely beautiful to see that the soldier who had known war all of his life finally gets to live away from the fight, where he is free to dance with his lover until the end of time.
