No rival film character has what it takes to thrive, progress and survive quite like Saoirse Ronan's incredible hunter and assassin Hanna. Her slogan even is 'adapt or die'; further showcasing the importance of developing within whatever environment or ordeal you may be faced with. Raised by her father in the fringes of Northern Finland, the 15 year-old heroine has been taught the art of survival ever since she entered this world. Whether she is killing reindeers and removing their organs for food, engaging in heavy fight combos upon fragile ice, or venturing alone through dangerous Morocco and Germany whilst being pursed by ruthless CIA operatives, there is nothing that Hanna cannot do - and will not do - in order to outlast and live on. Through incredible direction and framing, as well as marvellous choreography, Ronan builds the ultimate predator. From her animalistic stance and movement as she stalks her prey, to her silenced, delicate steps as she evades detection from those trying so relentlessly to terminate her, Hanna truly is able to live by her famed words. Even more impressive than her rugged strength, agility and action is her endless smarts. A lust of learning and projecting rehearsed dialogue means she is fluent in multiple tongues and can do her very best to blend in as naturally with society as she can do in the whiteouts of her rural homeland. Hanna Heller is without doubt cinema's greatest ever survivor.
