10 Greatest Ever Tom Cruise Running Scenes
2. The Firm
A mid-budget legal thriller from a respected director and a stacked cast, The Firm is the kind of movie that Hollywood just doesn't make anymore, which is a real shame. These kinds of genre movies are always watchable if done correctly, and The Firm is both the best and most successful John Grisham adaptation ever.
Cruise's impressionable and fantastically-named young lawyer Mitch McDeere finds out that his new job is not what he signed up for. No, not the shady legal practices and general bad guy vibes given off by literally everybody he works for... The running. Lots of running.
Not content with chasing his wife down the street, and then escaping from his own offices at high-speed that culminates with him jumping out of a window and landing on a conveniently-placed truck, the entire climax of the movie is basically Tom Cruise running away from people the only way he knows how; at high speed, and over great distances.
Even while wearing the staple oversized coat of the 1990's businessman, nobody comes close to catching the lightning-fast Mitch McDeere.
