10 Greatest Film Trilogies of All Time

09. The Austin Powers Trilogy

Yeah baby! They may seem a little naff now that we've seen them 8 million times but there's no doubting just how hilarious Mike Myers' James Bond spoofs actually are. In fact if it wasn't for Austin Powers we'd probably never have had any of the Scary Movies or it's infinite spinoffs ... actually that would probably have been a good thing! Austin Powers was the number one spy in all of jolly old england during the swinging sixties but when his nemesis Dr Evil escapes into space Austin allows himself to be frozen cryogenically for the time when Dr Evil once again returns to Earth. When he awakes it is a very different world and he's no longer the super stud he once was. His outfits are outdated, his teeth in need of serious treatment and his Mojo well and truly out of order. Over the course of the movies he goes to battle with Evil and an array of weird and wonderful henchman including Fat Bastard (played by Myers), Goldmember (played by Myers) and Mini Me, Dr Evil's minuscule clone. He also does the deed with Liz Hurley, Heather Graham and Beyonce before finally outdoing Dr Evil once and for all. Mike Myers has tried many times since these movies to get his own personal Mojo back but with the exception of Shrek he hasn't had a hit in years. Perhaps it's time to return to the well once more and reinvent the International Man of Mystery for the Y2K generation. Failing that we're sure Wayne's World would just LOVE to become a trilogy. Fingers crossed.
