10 Greatest Film Trilogies of All Time

04. Toy Story

Toy Story is simply excellent. There's no other way to describe each new film. They just get better and better the more you watch them and they have plot lines we can all identify with.

Woody is his owner Andy's favourite toy. And why wouldn't he be? He's a cowboy, he has a badass hat and a pull string that allows him to say all kinds of neat phrases. But on one particular birthday young Andy receives a new gift, an all singing all dancing Space Ranger figure named Buzz Lightyear who Woody fears will replace him as number 1 in Andy's heart. Eventually the two toys become the best of friends and embark on a series of adventures usually revolving around trying to find their way back to Andy after some mishap or other causes them to be separated.

It looked like there would only be 2 Toy Story movies for many years but then a 3rd came along and it was - in a word - superb! It reduced grown men to tears with it's heart in mouth finale and conveyed more emotion in a single scene than you'll ever see in some long running soap operas. These are not kids films. These are family films that appeal to anyone and everyone with a heart. Animation has never been better than this. Let's just hope the rumoured 4th movie doesn't let us down. Somehow we think we'll be pleased with the end result. God bless you Disney and Pixar.
