10 Greatest Films About Television

2. Good Night, and Good Luck.

Mr. Clooney, Mr. Clooney. What a directorial endeavor! Good Night and Good Luck. sparks under Clooney in both a supporting role and in the director's chair, as he brings Edward R. Murrow to life through the sensationally well-spoken and meditative David Stratharin. And it'd be a sin not to mention Robert Elswit's picture-perfect cinematography, as the only feature on the list to be shot in black and white and still probably be the most beautiful film noted. Surrounded by a masterclass of a cast including Patricia Clarkson, Robert Downey Jr., Frank Langella, and Jeff Daniels, Good Night and Good Luck. is a fantastic reflection on Murrow's real-life (and particularly classy) news assault on Senator McCarthy during the Red Scare, ultimately bringing his grip on the American public to nothing more than a loose, gummy latex glove. If you're looking for a bit of an entertaining history romp, you'd do well to go out and find Good Night and Good Luck., which scored six Oscar nominations and critical acclaim. http://youtu.be/5N3WJXK2PAM

Cameron Carpenter is an aspiring screenwriter, current film and journalism student, and self-diagnosed cinephile, which only sounds bad in certain circles. Devoted fan of comics, movies, theater, Jesus Christ, Sidney Lumet, and Peter O'Toole, he sometimes spends too much time on his Scribd and comicbookmovie.com, but doesn't think you're one to judge, devoted reader. You can follow him on Twitter to watch him talk to people you didn't know exist. Oh, and Daredevil is quite the big deal around here (my head).
