9. Murray Head & Peter Finch In Sunday Bloody Sunday
The Set Up Peter Finch stars as a family doctor who falls in love with the bed-hopping Bob (Murray Head - a disastrous name if ever there was one). There's not much to this rather bland emotional drama that tethers itself more to melodrama than to the sudden kiss between Finch and Head. In For the Kill After the men look longingly into each others' eyes they lock lips. Heads and necks twisting and turning. It feels manufactured. So, what makes it so great? What Makes It So Great It's the first guy-guy kiss on screen between two characters that romantically swing the other way! You know. They're gay or bi or queer or something. Plus, any mano-a-mano kiss that shocks the studio and audience enough to bomb at the box office is worth a mention. Someone had to pave the way, but no one was ready for it. And even though the movie is a bore, it's well-worth the salute.
