You might not think of Jonathan Glazers divisive low-fi sci-fi as being a horror movie but considering it features a few of the most memorably creepy, intensely frightening moments of the last 15 years then you simply have to count it as one. Scarlett Johansson is the best shes ever been as an alien creature who takes her beautiful human form and stalks the streets of Glasgow, luring unsuspecting young men into her white van before taking them back to her home where she conducts an inexplicable procedure on them. Everything about it - from the unique direction to the haunting imagery (one moment featuring a crying baby on a beach is particularly memorable) to the otherworldly experimental score by Mica Levi - adds up to an utter masterpiece of a film that does what every great horror should: profoundly unsettles you and makes sure you never forget the experience.
