Although it may not necessarily be the first sight gag that springs to mind when you think of The Farrelly brothers, the duo are surprisingly restrained when it comes to wringing laughs from a rubber hand. Roy Munson (Woody Harrelson) is a bowling pro, winner of the 1979 Iowa championship. He's also missing a hand, having had it fed into a ball return machine, and so now he has taken to wearing a rubber hand on a prosthetic hook. There's no way on earth you could confuse those two statements, right? Well, maybe if he didn't wear his championship ring on his rubber hand. When he's trying to make an inspirational point about victory and determination, he raises his hand .When he's trying to emphasise life's tougher lessons, he raises his hand. And so nobody knows whether he's talking about the ring or the hand, leading to an amusing mix-up that only gets funnier the more you see it.
