beeltek Don't be deterred by her garish furniture or her decidedly unique take on a shrimp cocktail; Delia Deetz (Catherine O'Hara) knows how to throw a dinner party. Even if she does require a bit of assistance... Having gathered a small collection of like-minded snobs, Delia attempts to steer the conversation away from the rather unsettling fact that her house may be haunted. But it's clear that someone doesn't like this change of subject as, before she can barely get her words out, Delia's voice suddenly becomes different. In fact, it sounds suspiciously like Harry Belafonte's. Despite the look of surprise on her face, her guests initially assume that she is treating them to her spot-on impression. That is, until, one by one, they find themselves inexplicably singing along with her. Before you know it, the entire room is lip-syncing along to Belafonte's 'Day-O (The Banana Boat Song)'- even if nobody can understand why. Nor can they quite put their finger on why they're flinging their arms - and, er, waving their bottoms- in the air like demented puppets. Still, you can always rely on a group possession to keep company in such high spirits.
