"'Cause I wanna know who I'm looking at."

We all know that horror movie villains like to make an entrance.

What's the point of being a horror villain if you don't get to have your main character moment every now and then? Whether in the form of sinister dolls creaking in their rocking chairs or in an unhinged clown nabbing kids from a drain, the history of horror is steeped in incredible villain introductions, entrances and iconic opening lines.

But what makes a great villain introduction? Is it the sheer jump-scare factor of a slasher at the door or is it the final reveal at the end of a whodunnit mystery? How do some of the best introduction scenes impact the rest of the film?

With all of this to consider, choosing just 10 iconic horror movie villain introduction scenes was tough - but that means what's left are the truly unforgettable, unbeatable and unmistakable villain reveals from the long history of horror.

10. John Kramer (Saw) - Jigsaw's Bathroom Reveal

There is no movie twist that can compare to the slow, dawning rise of John Kramer (Tobin Bell) from the bathroom floor in the very first Saw movie.

Having been lying prone as a corpse for the entire run of the film, with red herrings and suspicious characters all being accused of being the Jigsaw villain, the final reveal of the mastermind himself is a memorable shocker for both a stunned Adam and the viewers at home.

Played perfectly in time to the strings of the iconic 'Hello Zep' theme tune, which would later go on to be the franchise's standout track, John's slow and graceful rise from the bloody floor made for a brilliantly apt introduction to this legendary character.
