5. Grotesque (2009)

Aki and Kazuo are a young couple out on a date. They are kidnapped and wind up in a basement where a sadistic madman rapes both of them. He tortures them horribly, stopping at several intervals to give them medical help so they don't bleed to death or die from their injuries. Fingers are sawed off, eyes popped out, nipples removed, castration occurs all to satisfy the madman's sexual desires. Of course Aki and Kazuo die agonising hideous deaths and the madman goes looking for new victims. Banned in Britain due to the lack of story or artistic merit in the film, the director of Grotesque, Koji Shiraisi, was most pleased with this act of censorship. Of course, everyone wants what they cannot have and sickos and the curious out there will flock to Grotesque. It is an intensely mean spirited film which solely dwells on torture - I don't see any point to the film but to disgust and nauseate the viewer. - "Oh look at me and the sick things I film!". Even Human Centipede 2 had more of a reason to exist. If you watch this film, you will be numbed into silence at the sheer... Grotesqueness of it all.
