10 Happy Movie Endings That Came Totally Out Of Nowhere

1. The Matrix Revolutions

The Matrix Revolutions This is it, the big one, the one that literally has a character called "deus ex machina" in it and delivers a happy-ish ending when the chips seem completely down. The Sentinels are tearing Zion a new one, and pretty much ready to finish it off, but out of nowhere, Neo ventures to the Machine City and asks the literal God from the Machine who rules over the Sentinels to stop. In exchange for destroying Smith and Neo handing over his code, the Sentinels stop their assault on Zion, and everything winds down. As if all this wasn't convenient enough, it follows in the shoes of the Minority Report ending, in that it clearly wants us to think it's a lot happier than it actually is. I mean, The Matrix as we know it is still operational, so how can it really be that happy? Nevertheless, with that beautiful sunshine and chirpy Indian girl, I guess it'd have to be...
