10 Hated Movies (That Deserve A Second Chance)
2. Catwoman (2004)
The real scandal here is the length of time it took to make a movie centered around one of the most iconic characters in superhero history. The Catwoman movie had been in the works ever since Michelle Pfeiffer's scene-stealing performance as the ferocious feline in the legendary, Batman Returns, in 1993. It took a further 10 years for the project to finally make the big screen with fans all over the world desperate to see the iconic figure back where she belongs.
However, what they got was a major disappointment, according to most people anyway.
Yes, it might have been poorly written at times. Yes, they might have completely rewritten her backstory. Yes, they might have turned it into a low-rate chick flick with zero appeal, but in all honesty, was it really that bad? No not at all.
Firstly, Halle Berry makes a pretty convincing Catwoman. She's slick, smart, and wears the uniform like she is supposed to. Secondly, she is also pretty convincing as a cat. It seems producers took the cat thing a little too seriously, with Berry most certainly embodying the role of a playful pussy cat with an angry edge. In fact, in one scene, she is even seen chowing down on some cat food. It might sound dumb, but strangely it kind of works.
