1. Man of Steel
The Dark Knight trilogy is over and after being sufficiently dazzled by its dark, gritty, and realistic tone, a new iconic character is ready for the Nolan treatment. Christopher Nolan himself has shepherded this film from the story to script (written by David S. Goyer), to hand picking Zach Snyder (300, Watchmen) as director. Man of Steel places Henry Cavill (Immortals) as Clark Kent and his alter ego, Superman. The world's most celebrated hero will likely be attempting to create a fan base for a future trilogy or a possible Justice League feature. The cast is filled with some of Hollywood's most known talents. Russell Crowe plays Jor-el, Kal-el's (Superman/Clark Kent) biological father. Long time stars Kevin Costner and Diane Lane play his human parents, the Kents. Amy Adams was controversially cast as primary love interest, Louis Lane. The most inspired casting choice, though, goes to Michael Shannon as Zod. Shannon is a diverse acting talent but he doesn't appear to be someone that would play the physically imposing General Zod, until we see him on screen this summer menacing everyone's favorite boy scout. Man of Steel's early buzz has the film being generally universally praised as a high octane action movie. Will this spurn a Justice League film? Maybe a Man of Steel trilogy? Will any other DC universe heroes cameo? Will Superman kneel before Zod? Find out the answers to these questions and more when the film opens in the US and UK June 14th. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&NR=1&v=5xX0Hd0xKzQ
