10 Hilarious Actor Pranks (That Went Too Far...)

It’s pretty well known at this point that Mel Gibson isn’t wired the same way as the average Joe on the street. But back when Conspiracy Theory was coming out, he was still selling tickets and the idea of him headlining a feature with Julia Roberts was a tantalising one.

It’s funny that trust is a key theme explored in this movie as there seems to have been a complete lack of it from the off-set. Most casts like to gift each other with presents at the end of a film as a way of thanking each other for all their hard work, Dave Bautista even bought everyone on set a special, personal totem at the end of filming the buddy cop comedy, Stuber – going as far as to purchase a purple Louis Vuitton bag for one crew member because it was their favourite colour!

Gibson took a different approach, instead choosing to give Roberts a frozen rat delivered to her quarters early in production. Not only was this incredibly disturbing but the thought of now having to work with someone who thought the idea of planting a dead rodent in your trailer was a hoot must’ve left the desired trust, needed to make their on-screen chemistry work, in tatters.

He also chased after Jamie Lee Curtis in a Hockey Mask with a knife (citing Halloween as an inspiration).
