7. Im Sew Tired - Help!
Help! was The Beatles second feature film. The 1965 movie directed by Richard Lester of (half of) Superman II, Superman III and Superman IV: The Quest For Peace fame is a whole lot of fun, if not quite as good as A Hard Days Night. After the drug-fuelled cult-based antics of the movie have wrapped up, theres plenty of fun to be had during the credits as the band play up to the camera and laughter billows out of them. And, right at the end, theres a baffling dedication that must have seemed funny at the time. Text appears on the screen to tell us that Help! is dedicated to Elias Howe, who, in 1846, invented the sewing machine. The facts stated there are true, but the exact reasons for the dedication remain unknown. One rumour is that Elias Howes invention was inspired by a dream where he was surrounded by unfriendly natives with spears, which is said to have inspired the events of the movie, too. That sounds a bit farfetched... but so is the entire film, to be fair.
