10 Hollywood Stars You Didn't Know Had Killed People

1. Matthew Broderick

If the term the "man" ever applied to anybody, it applied to Matthew Broderick during the '80s. The young actor was indeed the man, starring in a string of iconic films during the period including; WarGames (1983), Lady Hawke (1985) and of course Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986) playing the titular character Ferris Bueller. During late 1987, Broderick was in a car accident in Northern Ireland, while vacationing with Jennifer Grey, whom he had semi-secretly begun dating during the filming of Ferris Bueller's Day Off. The actor veered into the other lane and crashed head on with another car, leaving the occupants of the other car, a mother and daughter, dead. It was determined that the actor was not drunk, he was charged with "careless driving" which came with an $175 fine. Jennifer Grey would later admit that she never full recovered after the accident. Explaining to People magazine; "The juxtaposition of that deep sorrow, the survivor's guilt, and then being celebrated as the new big thing just didn't jibe. It didn't feel good to be the toast of the town." Matthew Broderick went on to have a long and lengthy career going on to star a over 40 films over the next two decades. Like this article?
