10 Hollywood Stars That Let Instant Success Go To Their Heads
2. Jaden Smith
Early Success: Technically Jaden Smith hasn't had any huge success yet, but he has starred alongside his Dad in a few critical and commercial failures. Nonetheless, if you're the son of one of the world's most famous actors, you're not going to be short of opportunities, and so far Jaden has starred in The Pursuit Of Happiness, The Karate Kid and After Earth - not bad for a young kid, even if they were mostly really dodgy films and it was nepotism that got him the roles. What Happened Next? Well, Jaden hasn't dealt with fame in the most reserved manner possible. He gave one of the most peculiar interviews by an actor ever to The New York Times with his sister Willow a couple of years ago. In it he claimed he could slow down time, identified the common theme of his work as 'the melancholiness of the ocean', and expounded on the duality of the mind - apparently our brain is hardwired to understand through a system of mathematical opposites ("When you think about an apple, you also think about the opposite of an apple"). Seems harsh but if there's one example of letting fame go to your head, surely it's this kind of stuff.
